What to Expect From a Telemedicine Medical Marijuana Evaluation
If you've never done a telemedicine visit before, here's exactly what happens — no surprises, no office to find.
Before your evaluation: intake
Before scheduling, you complete an online intake form with your basic information, state of residence, condition or relevant medical information, and preferred certification term (1 or 2 years). This gives the physician context before your visit.
Scheduling your visit
Once intake is submitted, you schedule your telemedicine visit through Calendly at a time that works for you. No office hours to work around — pick a slot and you're set.
What you need for the visit
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and internet connection is all that's required. There's no special software to install, no waiting room, and no travel.
During the evaluation
The licensed physician reviews your intake information and discusses your condition or reason for seeking certification. This is a real clinical evaluation, conducted remotely rather than in person — the physician determines whether certification is clinically appropriate based on your individual circumstances and the applicable state's rules.
After the evaluation
If certification is clinically appropriate, it's submitted according to your state's process — automatic registration in New York, or a registration email from the state in Connecticut. If certification is not clinically appropriate, you receive a full refund.
What telemedicine does not include
There's no in-person physical examination as part of this process. As with any telehealth service, the evaluation is based on the information you provide and what can reasonably be assessed remotely.
